"Pouco antes de amanhecer, Michael e Michele retornaram à hospedaria onde haviam passado parte da noite anterior. Ele deixou o carro num pátio de terra diante da velha estalagem, debaixo de uma árvore, e dirigiu-se ao mesmo quarto da véspera, acompanhado pela namorada. No saguão, encontraram a hospedeira, uma senhora bojuda e atenciosa, com voz de barítono e rosto que lembrava as feições de um dos Três Patetas. A boa mulher trazia um lenço colorido na cabeça e, com um balde de água, esfregão e detergente, aproveitava aquelas horas vazias que antecediam a alvorada para lavar os corredores do seu estabelecimento. Ao ver o rapaz naquele estado, coberto por terra e com a roupa toda encardida, indagou num inglês sofrível:

- Mas o que acontecer... cair num brejo?

- Estava no cemitério, desenterrando os mortos. Gracejou Michael.

A velha senhora persignou-se diversas vezes, mastigando algumas palavras de esconjuro, as quais ninguém compreendeu. Eles subiram as escadas escuras rindo da brincadeira e entraram no quarto, que cheirava a cobertor guardado por longo tempo. Embora não fosse grande, possuía a vantagem de ter banheiro próprio e era limpo. O moço atirou sua mala sobre a cama e foi abrir a janela para arejar o ambiente. Aos poucos, a manhã ia despertando, preguiçosa, tingindo as casas e os campos com os matizes da aurora. Depois, Michael lavou o rosto na pia e abriu o chuveiro, deixando a água escorrendo até encher uma enorme banheira de louça branca. Ele despiu-se, jogou a roupa suja num canto e mergulhou naquelas águas quentes e reconfortantes. Enquanto relaxava de olhos fechados, ouviu o celular tocando insistentemente no bolso de seu sobretudo, o qual ele pendurara num gancho atrás da porta. O banho estava tão agradável, que o rapaz recusou-se a sair dali naquele momento e resolveu não atender. Michele abriu a porta, aproximou-se do namorado e perguntou:

- Quem era?

- Não sei... Certamente não era para nós, pois este celular nem é nosso.

- Talvez fossem aqueles bandidos...

Ao ouvir tais palavras, Michael arrepiou-se. Teriam conseguido ler o texto em latim do diário de Jacques de Molay? E se tivessem lido, de que lhes serviria? O livro não revelava o local para onde os cavaleiros haviam levado o fabuloso tesouro do Templo. Uma coisa era certa. Quando Macrino e seu comparsa descobrissem isso, viriam outra vez atormentar o rapaz. Ele apanhou o sabonete e, esfregando-o suavemente sobre seu corpo, disse:

- Não me fale nesses assassinos..."

"All through the night the deceased would stand wake by her friends and family at the cathedral, for the burial had been scheduled for the afternoon of the next day. Darkness had fallen when Jacques de Molay embraced Charles de Valois, the tearful husband, who seemed to be prostrated by the unexpected tragedy. After expressing him some words of consolation, the Temple Grandmaster went to the King of France to express him his condolences as well, for himself and in the name of all his Order. He never found him in the nave, though, and began to seek for him in the several side chapels and transepts built around Notre-Dame. He walked the Cathedral up and down for some time after him, but the French King seemed to have mysteriously vanished. Finally, Jacques de Molay heard his voice coming from a dependency of the vestry. He was talking with Guillaume de Nogaret, one of his most despicable ministers and this secret conversation gave forth the feeling that they had both searched for the isolation of that lonely chamber to conspire at will. After hearing one of them mention his own name, the Grandmaster hid behind a fluted pillar better to eavesdrop what they were scheming. The king was sitting on a wooden pew placed against the stone wall, while his minister stood before him, expectantly wringing his hands.

‘It is decided, then,’ said Nogaret. ‘We cannot lose any more time!’

‘I can’t wait to grab the Knights Templar’s treasure any longer…’ replied the king, a lascivious glint on his eyes.

‘Early in the morning,’ affirmed Nogaret, ‘I shall send a regiment of the Royal Guards to break into the Temple and confiscate all the Order’s assets!  Rest assured, my king, my friend, they will dearly pay for their crimes!’

‘Nonetheless, I demand that every last one of them be arrested!’ joined the king. ‘I want the end of that accursed brotherhood after all the evil it brought upon France!...’

Listening to those words, Jacques de Molay felt a deep pang in his heart and was preyed upon by outright despair. Losing no more time, he went for some Knights Templar who were stationed as a cavalry guard outside the Cathedral mounting their coursers.

‘Get back at once to the Temple and tell Gilles de Sens to fetch all the treasure of our Order, the books, and every document to the harbor of La Rochelle, where several of our ships are anchored,’ he commanded. ‘This iniquitous king decided to steal everything, arrest all Knights Templar, and destroy our Brotherhood. At the same time, messengers should ride to our fortresses all over Europe telling our brethren everywhere to proceed likewise. As soon as the cargo is completely placed into the ships these are to set sail from La Rochelle with the uttermost urgency!  Kill all horses from exhaustion on the several roads that might be necessary, but this evil tiding must reach every last one of our strongholds as early as possible. As soon as I can disengaged myself from the burial trappings, I’ll ride to the Temple myself to decide on the place our embarkations should take the treasure of our holy Order,’ he finished. ‘Go now! May God have mercy on us!...’"

     Pessoal, hoje vou postar a resenha que a Liége (Astreya) do blog Enigma da Lua

fez para o livro "666 - Caçadores de Demônios". É uma moça muito inteligente, simpática e também escritora. Gostei muito do que escreveu. Ela me disse que foi a primeira resenha que fez, mas não acreditei (rsrsrsrs...), pois achei muito perspicaz, tocando nos pontos essenciais do livro. 

     "Eu não gosto de escrever resenhas de livros. Como escritora, eu não me sinto bem no papel de avaliar/criticar a obra dos outros por saber de tantas falhas que a minha própria escrita possuí. Mas, como a única coisa que o autor Tim Marvim me pediu em troca do livro dele foi que eu desse a minha opinião e falasse da obra, aqui estou eu para quebrar o meu hábito!

     666 - Caçadores de Demônios conta a história de Michael, um jovem que inicialmente encontra-se em carreira eclesiástica no convento de Santa Maria Delle Grazie, mas que logo se vê envolto em uma trama repleta de enigmas, segredos milenares da igreja, perseguições e perigo. Acusado injustamente de assassinar seu melhor amigo dentro do convento, frei Abelardo, Michael se vê obrigado a fugir e montar as peças de um quebra-cabeça composto por pistas que estão espalhadas em três obras que ele encontra em uma biblioteca secreta em Santa Maria Delle Grazie. A principal delas é o diário do último mestre templário, o lendário Jacques de Molay, que contêm importantes informações e uma revelação capaz de abalar toda a estrutura da Igreja Católica.

    Sou suspeita para falar sobre o livro pois adoro tramas que envolvam mistérios e intrigas relacionadas à igreja. Sim, eu adoro as histórias de Dan Brown (por mais que tenha gente que torça o nariz, sim, eu gosto!) e se você é um fã do gênero não hesite em ler 666 - Caçadores de Demônios. Além de traçar uma narrativa intrincada, Tim ainda possui uma habilidade de escrita que confesso ter me deixado embasbacada. A linguagem utilizada por ele foi um dos pontos que mais me chamou atenção para além da história, pois flui maravilhosamente bem mas não é simplória: é de certa forma rebuscada mas utilizada de forma precisa e agradável. Não há partes truncadas ou difíceis de se visualizar. Tudo é muito claro e excelentemente retratado. Realmente fiquei impressionada!

    A história cobre a procura de Michael pelas sete torres do demônio (nas quais ele encontrará pistas que o levarão ao seu objetivo maior) juntamente à sua parceira Michele. No entanto, o livro é dividido em duas partes, e, na primeira, somos apresentados à investigação de Michael acerca daquilo que ele ainda não entende e temos uma alternação de épocas entre os capítulos: Tim também narra acontecimentos históricos que têm relação direta com os mistérios que Michael investiga, e eu particularmente adorei essa estratégia. Na segunda parte, o livro se foca na busca pelas torres e na resolução concreta do mistério, com Michael correndo por sua vida e pelo destino da própria humanidade!

    A história lida com temas delicados e interessantes, e vai ligando seus pontos aos poucos, de modo que você realmente descobre com o protagonista o que vai ocorrer (e é isso que eu adoro nesse tipo de livro!). O livro também tem um toque de sobrenatural, com demônios e seres diabólicos fazendo parte de nossas realidades concretamente! Temos um final surpreendente e até mesmo brusco, mas não em um mal sentido! No começo, a minha única ressalva foi a rapidez do romance entre Michael e Michele, mas até mesmo isso não aconteceu ao acaso, há um motivo para que ele e ela tenham se entregado rapidamente um ao outro. Isso foi bastante interessante, e se você ler com atenção, verá que o Tim deixa suas pistas ao longo da história sobre a natureza e o destino desses dois amantes.

    Falsos profetas, Nostradamus, apocalipse, códigos de barra, numerologia, monumentos históricos, um tesouro escondido, e pessoas que não são o que parecem: tudo isso está presente no livro e interligado em uma narrativa rápida e enigmática. Quem é que não gosta de viajar pelos locais mais fascinantes da Europa investigando uma boa teoria da conspiração? Gente, eu amo muito tudo isso.

    A capa tem extrema relação com a história (gosto disso!) e o interior do livro é lindo, com fotos, imagens e uma gravura de página inteira de São Miguel de encher os olhos (digo isso porque sou fascinada pelo Arcanjo Miguel e suas representações). Aliás, a passagem dos personagens pelo Monte San Michel me encantou. Um dos meus sonhos é visitar esse lugar e com certeza amei vê-lo tão bem descrito no livro, porque me senti lá!     

    Enfim, fica claro que não sou boa em escrever resenhas, então, minha palavra final, é: RECOMENDO!!!
