Quem foi Jacques de Molay?

Não se sabe ao certo onde Jacques de Molay nasceu e tampouco em que ano. Acredita-se que tenha nascido em Vitrey (França), por volta de 1244. Aos 21 anos, entrou para a Ordem do Templo, onde acabou por se tornar grão-mestre em 1298, uma posição de alto prestígio, tendo substituído Teobaldo Gaudini. Morreu a 18 de março de 1314, após anos de encarceramento por ordem do ambicioso rei Felipe IV, o Belo, que desejava se apoderar dos bens dos cavaleiros templários.
